Witness my slow devolvement into delusion.
Who am I? (5/30/25)
I come from a long, long line of Southern aristocracy. We showed up in Virginia in 1680, and moved to Georgia by 1836 after losing a North Carolina supreme court case against ourselves. We've been here ever since. We were rich, then poor, then rich again, then poor, and rich, then poor again, and now we're on the way back up.
You're Southern! Are you racist MAGA?
No.
Did your family own slaves?
Yes. 11. I do not condone the actions of my ancient ancestor who died in 1822 and who probably has 9,000 descendants, approximately 0.78% of my DNA, and whom I share 128 others with the same relationship. Decent chance you know somebody who also had a bad ancestor.
Anyways...
One of the things I find interesting about internet blogging is you are basically typing into the dark. And there's no real reason for anyone to read what you have to say, but you write anyways.
Writing is something I'm typically good at, but I rarely treat it like leisure. More of like a task--something that you really are good at, but really do not want to do. Kind of like math. Except unlike math, I like writing. Does this make sense?
One of my "summer resolutions" is to start this blog. Not to post every day, but to offer the world (as the above flag counter shows) some random insights into the life of a random guy on the internet.
Let us begin...
One of my favorite TV shows ever is The Office, American-style. This September, they are coming out with a show "set in the same universe" where Oscar 'Actually' Martinez is working at a depressing newspaper in Toledo, Ohio. It's called The Paper. Now, you could be reading this eight years from now and thinking, "Wow! It's my favorite TV show! Such a hit!" Or, it could've been cancelled in the first or second season due to bad ratings. "What show?"
Good night, and good luck.
Something to think about. (6/1/25)
John Denver in his song, "Take Me Home, Country Roads," sang that West Virginia was "almost heaven." Charlie Daniels, in his song, "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," sang that the Devil himself went down to Georgia, and he's already in hell, so he went down even further, placing heaven somewhere around Pennsylvania and hell somewhere around Tennessee or South Carolina.
Night has fallen. (6/3/25)
I love summer. But summer is an abstract idea. Kids get out in late May/early June, but when does summer weather start? Up north, it's May. Down south, it's March and April. So by the time summer break starts, it's like retirement for kids. They are bored and want to do stuff. And nowadays, that's screens.
You know helicopter seeds? Well, I got a box elder on my property and it produces so many of them. So I put eight in a little flowerpot around May 17th. I didn't expect them all to shoot up. So yesterday and today, I put all of them in larger, individual pots. The weatherman (cough cough, the Weather app) says rain and clouds for pretty much the next week. Thank the lords I'm off to Rhode Island until Sunday. Just packed about an hour ago. It's not like it's gonna rain there too!
Ohhh boyyy what else should I talk about? TV. There isn't good stuff left on TV. Saturday Night Live ended on May 18th I think with Scarlett Johansson hosting. I think Colin Jost and Michael Che are leaving but nothing's been announced. Of course, Kenan will stay forever. But now the only "good" stuff left on TV during the summer is late night talk shows.
Fallon is decent. I feel like he gets targeted too much. He is criticized for laughing too much during interviews but when he interviewed The Rizzler last year (I'm not kidding), he was criticized for "not appearing enthusiastic" during an interview. Like, really, are you going to be enthusiastic interviewing an eight year old already on TikTok?
My favorite is Seth Meyers. Well, actually, my favorite is Lewis Black when he's on The Daily Show, but he isn't exactly regularly scheduled, so Seth will have to do. I like Corrections, A Closer Look, and Ya Burnt.
I also like Colbert but sometimes I wonder if his brain is okay (cough cough, Skibidi Biden), but he and Kimmel are solid entertainment. Jon Stewart is one of those kinds of people left-leaning people like to say roots for them and then he says something totally right-wing and blows their minds.
Then there's John Oliver, who I forget exists on a weekly--nay, daily basis. It's not that I've never cared for him but I've never exactly taken time out of my night to watch his show. I'm sure it's okay.
I've run out of things to rant about. I'll probably archive the past blog "posts" that you can only read, not comment. Maybe I'll open a comment page, somehow. If you are reading this, congratulations, good luck, and good night.
Night has fallen. (6/4/25)
Hello, my name is Mason Pickett, and I'll be your tour guide for the next hundred words of insanity and delusion.
I want to shout out our reader (or more likely, viewer) from Brazil--now, for some reason, Google Sites does not like tiny images, so this very large image of a flag counter will have to do. Where was I? Oh right, Brazil. Diversity FTW!!!!!
(This is going to be hell to copy into the archive section, but that's future Mason's problem.)

Well, I made it to Rhode Island. The land of potholes and water. I actually like Rhode Island, it's my second favorite state. We took off around 11 and landed in Boston Logan, which in my opinion, is one of the best names for an airport. Crossed the state line about 6:39 and the traffic coming out of Boston was terrible. Tons of pickup trucks being driven by accountants.
Have I ever told you how much I hated Westview Abbey? Nobody says it, but that place is HAUNTED. Built in the 40s and it looks like a medieval castle, except unlike most (not all) medieval castles, it has 11,000 rotting corpses in it's walls. I haven't been since January but I got kin in there and here are my four complaints to whoever runs it:
1. It smells way too nice for a building filled with rotting corpses. Of course, I prefer the floral air in your face over the smell of dead bodies, but still.
2. Some of the crypts had liquid leaking from them. Like, red liquid oozing from the bottom that had dried. My mind thinks grandma went boom but cemetery officials will say "casket failure" or some bureaucratic bullshit like that.
3. It is way too gloomy. Like, WAY too gloomy. They have lights but they are far apart and it is very dark.
4. It is haunted. I feel like there's ghosts there and I ain't afraid of no ghosts...except in the Abbey.
Well, enough said. It's now 9:56 pm here in Beautiful Rhode Island, and there isn't much more to write about. So good night, and good luck.
GOOD MORNING RHODE ISLAND!!!! (6/8/25)
Goooooooood Morning Rhode Island! It's hot...damn hot today.
No, no it's not.
7:45 am here in Barrington as the temperature hovers just around the mid 60s, the Apple Weather app says it should get to 73º today with no sun but that's bullshit because the sun is out as I am writing this.
We leave out of Boston Logan today at 4:30 pm and we still haven't decided when to leave because when we got here on the fourth, traffic was terrible. Very tremendously terrible, I have friends who are like, traffic organizers, and they say it's truly tremendously terrible...
I'll publish this tonight when I get home so I can detail the experience I had coming out of the airport, which will be written in the blank (to be filled) below:
It was hell.
Our flight got delayed and delayed and delayed again, until we finally left two and a half hours after we were supposed to leave. Thanks, Canada. Maybe not catch on fire next time.
When we finally landed two and a half hours late, (at 9 pm) 55 people onboard were on a tight connecting flight so we were instructed to stay on the flight until they all got off. Mr. Oompa Loompa here decided to take his sweet time to his "urgent" connection.
Finally, we got home.
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall... (6/12/25)
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty fell flat on his face.
Welcome to the modern world.
What's in the news lately? Oh, nothing, just some peaceful protests riots in LA, who cares about cars and buildings burning? I know, I know, it is mostly peaceful. But for the LOVE of GOD, don't fucking SET STUFF ON FIRE if you want people to agree with you!
Welcome to the modern world.
I had a dentist's appointment yesterday, it was just a cleaning. What's my dentist's name? Crentist. Outta there in 30 minutes. No, I didn't have a procedure, but I heard they have this new kind of quick dry bonding for those who do get procedures done.
Welcome to the modern world.
Y'all are probably DYING to know about how my box elders are doing. Well, two died, and another one lost it's structure. Many have droopy leaves, so it isn't going well, but box elders are highly hardy (that's what she said) plants, so I have hope.
Welcome to the modern world.
And finally...did you know I hate "said the actress to the bishop"? It's such a stuffy, corny, oh-so-aristocratic British saying that I am so glad was turned into "that's what she said" here in the good ol' U-S of A!
Good night (even though it's 11:55 am) and good luck.
Addendum, 5:00 pm:
So...a plane crashed. I actually think it had already crashed and the news got out before I wrote and published the first part of this blog entry. Air India Flight 171 out of Gatwick Airport. 241 people died, with only one survivor. I would absolutely hate to be that person, and I sure hope not, but if 241 of your fellow passengers and crew die, I can't imagine that you would survive. So, as of today, June 12, 2025, at 5:02 pm here, this person, whoever they may be, is still alive.
For posterity, I archived the Wikipedia page just now on the Internet Archive. You can view it here.
It's time for...Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? (6/13/25)
Our first question...which country did Israel strike with missiles today?
a. Iran
b. Kosovo
c. Egypt
d. Toothbrush
If you guessed a, Iran, you would be correct. Israel apparently decided to conduct something called Operation Rising Lion and struck Tehran, among other things, such as Iran's top military leadership. For posterity (again), I archived on the Internet Archive the Wikipedia page for it, so that you could view it here. However, they're already thinking of changing the name of the article, so we'll see how long this takes.
It has been cloudy all day today and I hate cloudy weather. I hate it so much because I am never energetic during cloudy weather. Just a sad, gloomy, pale sky, makes the day 100 times worse. So, I turn to this website to blog about my delusion and random experiences. Did you know someone from Canada viewed this website? Gosh golly gee whiz, I'm soooo excited! Diversity FTW!!! Now we get Brazil and Canada! Who's next? Kazakhstan?
I keep watching The Office again and again. So there's something to keep me company. Today I watched the Double Date episode (S6, E9) where Michael takes Pam's mother, Helene, out on a date with the newlywed Jim and Pam for her birthday. Because Pam is sooooo happy that Michael is boning her mother, in fact, she was so happy, she screamed in the parking lot with joy.
Well, I'll let you go from my delusion. Good night, and good luck.
Bad news, yet again. (6/15/25)
Sooooo apparently a Minnesota state rep and her husband were assassinated yesterday. My past few blog posts have been fairly mellow and sad and "look what's happening in the world now." So, happy thoughts.
I had hot chocolate this morning for the first time forever out of a Los Pollos Hermanos mug. I actually have a mug for every one of my favorite TV shows--one for SNL, one for BrBa/BCS, one for The Office, and one for Family Feud. The SNL one is black with all the SNL logos, The Office is a "World's Best Boss" mug, and the Family Feud mug is just the Family Feud logo.
Mugs, people! I've already lost some of you...
Let's talk about the Grateful Dead. I'm a Deadhead. But not a pot-smoking concert-going fan. My favorite song is Truckin', but we'll be talking about Brown Eyed Women today. I believe wholeheartedly that Europe '72 is the version you'd want to listen to when you want to listen to something sad, but Cornell '77 is the happiest, most upbeat one. Coming in a close second to that is the Hartford '77 version.
There's a killer version done by Dead & Company, I'll link it here, that in my opinion, blows many of those out of the water. (Ghost of Jerry Garcia, don't haunt me).
I talked about in my first blog post back in May about the new The Office spinoff, The Paper, and how Oscar Nunez (who plays Oscar Martinez) will be reprising his role for the show. One thing I am wondering is if they are going to put it on network TV (which we all know is making SO much money right now...). Because I don't have Peacock and I might not get it. Well, maybe.
Sayonara! And good night!
Welcome to U.S. politics. (6/17/25)
Apparently we've gone so far into the deep end that we have the richest man in the world posting drug test results because the president accused him of being a drug addict, specifically ecstasy and ketamine...I think. In all honestly, I've stopped paying attention to this kind of stuff.
Now, I can't remember if I wrote anything during the Elon/Trump bromance breakup, but Elon is kind of screwed. Now the Trump half of the GOP hates him because Trump hates him, the Democrats hate him for siding with Trump for the longest time. The only people who he might have a chance with are the fiscally conservative Republicans, but right now, a lot of people seem disgusted by him.
And, because he's the figurehead for Tesla, which has basically cornered the market on electric vehcles so much so that people associate EVs with Teslas, people will now avoid buying them or even being seen in them because they don't want to be associated with Elon, so one of two things is gonna happen: either EVs plummet in terms of market share, or companies like GM, Stellantis, Ford, Toyota, etc., corner the market, but again, that is going to take a WHILE.
So, I conclude. We'll see what happens. Also, in Georgia, it's the Public Service Commisioners election. And NOBODY knows about it. Infuriating. They are the ones raising the rates for all the damn data centers that absolutely wreck the enviroment and make horrid noise and use an abhorrent amount of water. But I digress.
Good night. (even though it's 4:49 pm.)
Iran bombings. (6/21/25)
Breaking news, folks, Trump announced that he bombed Iran about 30 minutes ago and that several B2 bombers are en route to Guam. It is now 8:55 pm on the east coast of the USA and he is supposed to give an address at 10 pm.
Watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8hEtI9AI0U. I'm not exactly "convinced" by it's message but it's an incredibly interesting piece of satire.
To be honest, I think that this is not going to last very long. Now that both Israel and the US are basically going to bomb Iran back to the stone age, this will probably end by September, because most of Iran's military brass was already taken out by Israel on the 13th and their nuke bases have now been destroyed by us.
As someone in my family said:
The irony is rich. The B2 Bomber, which just dropped the bombs, was from a program initiated by Carter in 1979, the year of the Iranian Revolution. At the time, the air force was using B1A bombers but Carter cancelled the B1 program to begin work on a stealth bomber.
Revenge is a dish served very, very cold.
However, Israel has already thrown the kitchen sink at bombing Gaza/Hamas and Hezbollah, and so now, I can't see how they still have that much left. They are a very small country in this sliver on the Mediterranean Sea. So Iran is now their newest front, with the help of the US.
They are going to be so pissed at us, and they are going to retaliate. How, I don't know. Any survivors are probably going to do something, but without power or resources, their efforts are going to be VERY futile.
I will watch Trump's address tonight wherever it will be broadcasted, probably streamed, but I'm sure CNN or some other 24 hour news service will broadcast it. I will update you tomorrow with a blog post on my thoughts on the update.
Good night.
Iran bombings, Part 2. (6/23/25)
I realize now I did not update you on the Iran bombing address that Trump delivered two days ago, mainly because it was nothing special. It was Trump saying that it was a job well done and that "Bibi Netanyahu and him were a great team, possibly the greatest of all time."
So now there's a ceasefire according to hime. Good. Great. Egcelente.
Goodnight.
A Socialist Mayor...maybe. (6/25/25)
Ahh, socialism. The ideology that I guess New Yorkers are so desperate to implement at this point.
I mean, seriously, it's in the name. Democratic Socialism. That literally tells your voters that "no, we aren't the socialists of 'yesteryear', we're democratic!" So they got that going for them...
Honestly, I think he's better though than the corrupt Eric Adams or Andrew fucking Cuomo. I wouldn't vote for him, but I don't live in New York, either. But he's basically going to be the mayor because everyone and their grandmother in New York will vote for him except for the Staten Islanders. Who's the GOP candidate again....? Trump kissass or decent politician?
Sayonara.
A new project! (6/27/25)
Enough with me ranting about politics with doom and gloom because at heart I am an optimist and I hate doomers who think we're starting WW3 and that Trump is a Nazi. Life is not all politics. Enjoy life. You only get one.
I picked up an old cigar box at an estate sale about a week and a half ago for five bucks. To say it is in terrible shape would be an understatement, it is a project of mine I am starting. Not a big project, but just something to do. Maybe keep it. Maybe resell it. Maybe gift it.
There is tons of adhesive residue on it, especially on the inside. The stain is actually a fairly pretty color of brown, however, the left side of the box as well as the bottom are painted white for whatever reason, and on the bottom, there is a disgusting vomit-colored stain. It appears that somebody in this box's past tried to paint it white, but gave up and/or didn't care. Cross your fingers it'll come off during sanding.
The inside of the box is in no better shape. While it isn't half white, there is tons of sticky residue and the walls of the inside are stained this deep black. In many corners and on the interior sides, there is what appears to be a buildup of wood glue with god knows what stuck inside it.
I plan on starting that project today, but I'm not entirely sure. I would sand it down and re-stain it. There is also a keyhole on the front and I'm sure that old brass mechanism hasn't worked since 1857 and the key is probably long gone, because the box did not come with one.
I will update you as the project progresses.
Finished the project. (6/29/25)
I finished the cigar box project this morning. I sanded off all of the white paint as well as some of the other parts of the box outside while listening to the Office Ladies podcast episodes with Mindy Kaling and Kathy Bates. I finished it off with some Tung Oil (not sponsored) yesterday and added a second coat this morning. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, but I got it for five bucks so if I sell it, I could get a LOT more money for it.
The One Big Beautiful Abomination (7/01/25)
First off, I cannot believe we are already 6 months through 2025. Feels like just yesterday was December 31, 2024.
So it appears that the One Big Beautiful Bill, which I thought would've been stalled about a month ago, has passed the Senate after, and I'm not kidding, the Democrats made the clerk read all 960 pages of the bill which took something like 9 hours. Sheesh. It's like the Republicans are trying to get everything that would happen over one term into one bill.
Of course Trump is going to sign it into law pretty much as soon as it hits his desk, which will likely be tonight or tomorrow. I have mixed feelings about this--mainly due to the fact that the debt is going to skyrocket. If any private corporation had a debt that is 37 trillion dollars, they would've had their assets (and asses) seized by the government and they would've filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. It's only a matter of time for the government--I mean, where are they getting all of this money from?
I also highly doubt that Thomas Massie, Rand Paul, and other Republicans who do not like this bill will be re-elected in 2026. (I think Rand Paul is up for re-election then). Massie is a staunch fiscal conservative, which Trump claims to be, but isn't really in practice. I like to call it Big Government Conservatism. Which sucks, because Massie is one of the last few sensible Republicans on Capitol Hill right now. (Sorry, old-ass Chuck Grassley.)
So, we'll see how this goes. Unlike many doomers in modern-day society, I am not losing sleep over the state of our politics and actually enjoying a life. So suck on that!
Goodnight.
Texas Floods and New Stuff (7/14/25)
Oh wow it's been a while. I think this Late Night with Seth Meyers video sums it up perfectly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dP76X9eio8s. I got a new phone, an iPhone 16e to replace the XR. But Alligator Alcatraz, the Texas Floods, Jeffrey Epstein trafficked kids to nobody apparently...it's all a big mess right now. I always hate when chaotic stuff in regards to politics happens during the summer because SNL isn't on to parody it and right now it is VERY chaotic. Of course, nothing will ever beat the good times we had in the Summer of '24:
Donny Trump and Uncle Joe debate and insist that they are better at golf than each other
Everyone wants Uncle Joe to drop out
Uncle Joe drops out
Kamala comes in
Kamala selects a practically unknown boring white guy from Minnesota who is actually pretty charismatic
Meanwhile, Donny Trump is almost killed in Butler, Pennsylvania, and then he chooses the senator from Ohio who had a campaign commercial that literally said, "Are you racist? Do you hate Mexicans?"
JD Vance can't even order a doughnut
The pole dancer from the Olympics who clearly liked someone in the crowd a little too much...
That girl from Australia who sucked at breakdancing.
So we'll see how the rest of the summer goes. Sayonara!
The Onion (7/15/25)
I am so glad The Onion is back to where it used to be...
Well, it's been like this for a while. I think the first ONN video on YouTube since they shut down around 2012/2013 was uploaded back in September, but this has to be their best one yet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkt-s39bwWY. I also get the print edition every month and I have ever since January, and I believe that story was there in print for the June edition.
Just wanted to share.
Fuck CBS. (7/17/25)
Well everyone give a big round of Fuck Yous to CBS for cancelling Stephen Colbert. 100% politically motivated. First, Bill Owens is forced to resign from 60 Minutes because of some stupid lawsuit, and now Colbert is off the air? Who's next? Kimmel? Seth? Fallon? Well actually Fallon could go...
Thankfully, Fallon and Seth have Lorne Michaels, who is not only a genius at keeping away the corporate wolves, but is NBC's darling thanks to the cash cow Saturday Night Live and all that other stuff he did with Broadway Video. And Seth has a contract through 2028, so hopefully he's on for a little longer. Love me some Closer Look.
Anyways, I'm just fuming. Thanks, David Ellison.
Update. (8/10/25)
Oh boy it's been a long time...
I am currently sitting in the Atlanta airport and my flight was just delayed another hour. They don't call it Delay Air Lines for nothing... we're on United.
I went to go get a bottle of water from the Hudson News wannabe and I saw Dasani for sale. Blegh. I HATE Dasani. They add so many chemicals and minerals and the water tastes so hard it's almost impossible to drink. It also doesn't even quench your thirst, which is a smart devilish way to get you to buy more Dasani water. Thanks, Coca-Cola...
Will update.
Sayonara!
The Wrath of Lorne Michaels. (8/28/25)
As of about 17 minutes ago it was announced that one of my personal favorite cast members on Saturday Night Live, Heidi Gardner, has left the show. She is the fourth cast member to leave, alongside Michael Longfellow, Emil Wakim, and Devon Walker. I can understand Walker and Longfellow as they didn't really do anything after three years, but Emil showed a helluva lot of promise. Lorne's gonna Lorne.
It's gonna be interesting seeing who else is on the chopping block. I think Jost and Che are probably gonna leave but no word on them yet and all of the strong contenders for a new Update anchor have been kicked off the show or left. We shall see. May the odds be ever in their favor.
Prediction (8/30/25)
So today there was some rumor that Trump had kicked the bucket. A new photo of him is making its rounds and he does not look healthy. And, just a few days ago, Bill Clinton was seen traveling with a portable difibrilator. And Joe Biden has metastatized prostate cancer. Breaking News! Old people have health problems.
But, I'm gonna make a prediction: Bill Clinton will die sometime within the next seven years. Joe Biden will not survive the 2020s. And Trump will be the first president since JFK to die in office. Well, this is morbid. I wonder what Obama and Dubya are thinking...
We'll see if this comes true.
My Review of 'The Paper' (9/4/25)
SPOILERS AHEAD
Buckle up folks...Mason Pickett, your friendly neighborhood TV critic is here to give his thoughts.
Today on Peacock, The Paper was released in all it's glory. And to be completely honest, it's great. The first two or three episodes are fairly rocky but starting towards the episode where they try to get revenge on the teenage blogger with 300K subscribers, that's where I like it.
So far, my favorite character has to be Esmeralda (fight me on this.) She brings this strange, Michael Scott-esque energy to the show and I like it. Ned Sampson is also a very good character and the writers are setting up the Mare Pritti love interest fairly well. I just finished Episode 10 and they've already renewed for a second season. Yay!
There is one thing I don't like about the show--where it's at. Peacock sucks. I never opened a subscription but I did today to watch the show. I thought, "well, $7.99 isn't THAT bad." Nope. It's locked behind a $109 per year subscription and so I had to pay $109 to watch that show. That's $10.90 an episode! Well, at least I have Peacock for a year now. It's also insanely buggy and glitchy, but hey, at least I'm getting refunded for the $7.99. 🙄
Now time to go watch the new South Park episode. Bring back Towlie! Don't keep him in the White House forever!
College Football Blowout Day (9/6/25)
Looks like it's been a few days of blowouts here in the world of good ol' American college football. Georgia Tech (go Tech!) beat Gardner Webb 59-12, Alabama won 73-0, Tennessee beat ETSU 72-17,, Texas Tech beat KENT 62-14, Minnesota beat NWST 66-0, the list goes on....
We're up against Clemson next week and they haven't been doing so well. Right now they're stuck at the bottom of the ACC and we may have a chance of being ranked for the first time since I wanna say 2014.
Signing off...
Queen Died...And An Arrest? (9/8/25)
Three years ago today Queen Elizabeth II died. Good lord time should not fly by that fast.
Apparently today, Raymond Cruz, who played Tuco Salamanca in Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul, was arrested today. For misdemeanor battery.
You might think he may have assaulted someone and seriously injured them. Nope. Instead of prosecuting drug dealers, the L.A. Attorneys are prosecuting someone who sprayed a girl with his water hose. I'm not even kidding. Shame on them.
Kirkin' Utah (9/10/25)
Charlie Kirk, famed for being a conservative political commentator, has died after being shot in the neck in Utah. He was 31.
I heard about this around 4:25pm-ish before about 30 minutes of checking to see if he has died (and a lot of Wikipedia back-and-forth editing) before finding out he died around 4:55 pm, but it was originally Trump who reported it before his spokesperson.
As much as one may disagree with him, he was, before anything, a son, father, and husband, and a human being. But there is one thing...
He did believe that deaths that were caused by gun violence were an unfortunate, but needed side effect of the Second Amendment. I guess that caught up with him...
Clemson and Nepal, An Odd Combination... (9/14/25)
First off, yesterday, Georgia Tech beat No. 12 Clemson home at Bobby Dodd! Wooooo!!! 3-0 record, we're currently No. 2 in the ACC and I think No. 12 Clemson will become No. 18 Clemson and we'll get up there. Top 20 at least.
Second of all, shit has gone down in Nepal. Over the past few weeks, Gen. Z has set the parliamentary building on fire, overtaken the goverment, and elected a new Prime Minister off of....and I'm not kidding, Discord. Well, to be fair, she's the interim Prime Minister, so she may not last, but it's been an interesting few weeks over in Nepal.
Signing off now...
Live from New York, it's Friday Night! (10/10/25)
After last week's Bad Bunny Embarassment of an episode, tomorrow night is Amy Poehler hosting. That should be good. It's also SNL's 50th birthday, even though it's Season 51 Episode 2. So Happy Birthday to Saturday Night Live!
Goodnight...
UPDATE! (11/10/25)
Whoooh boy it's been a long time. Exactly one month since my last post. One thing hasn't changed though: government is still shutdown. For now, at least, they came to a deal yesterday.
Things that have happened:
Zohran Mamdani elected mayor. The Democratic Socialists better not screw up now to destroy their cause.
East Wing of the White House demolished in favor of the new "Trump Ballroom" that may or may not get built.
Dick Cheney dies, may his second heart rest in peace.
My birthday, on November 1st.
Also, today is the 50th Anniversary of the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. I found this really good arrangement online: Click a-here.
Seyonera!
RIP The Penny, 1793-2025. (11/12/25)
We are gathered here today to mourn the loss of the United States Penny...
not!
Good riddance for bad trash. The penny served nearly no purpose except for clogging up Coinstars, finding them tucked in lines on the sidewalk, oxidized halfway to hell, and being stuck at the bottom of your cup holder, sticky...
One can say MANY things about what the Trump administration has done but overall this is one of few good things he's done so far. They're gonna still produce SOME for us numismatists but other than that, they're gone...
I have a strange relationship with the penny. Like most Americans, I have many, many rolls of them from change collected in years gone by. Yet I also appreciate it's longstanding stubbornness and will to survive years of inflation, price gouging, stagflation, the Panics of the 1800s, the Great Depression, and the Great Recession...
Goodnight, the penny. Goodnight.
